The best selling children’s book, The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister, has been adapted into a delightful play for very young performers.  The story follows Rainbow Fish, the most beautiful creature in the ocean, covered in iridescent, shimmering silver scales.  Proud of his unique appearance, he refuses to play with the other fish and refuses to share even one of his glittering scales with a small blue fish.  As a result, his vanity leaves him completely isolated and lonely.

Seeking guidance, Rainbow Fish consults a wise octopus who advises him to give away his prized scales. Though hesitant at first, he decides to part with them one by one. As he shares his beauty with others, he discovers that true happiness comes not from holding onto vanity, but from generosity, community, and friendship.
